Who we are

MMC Exterior Cleaning is run by Mark, based in Normanby, Middlesbrough (TS6). We are the “data controller” for the personal information described on this page. If you have any questions about your data, contact us on 07584 956981 or info@mmc-exterior.com.

What information we collect

When you ask for a quote, call, text or email us, we collect the details you choose to give us. This usually includes:
✓ Your name, phone number and email address
✓ Your address or postcode, so we can price and carry out the work
✓ Photos of your property that you send us
✓ Any other details you include in your message

When we carry out work for you, we also keep a record of the job, the price, when it was done and any invoices and payments.

How we use your information

We only use your information to run our business and look after you as a customer. That means:
✓ Replying to your enquiry and giving you a quote
✓ Arranging, carrying out and invoicing your work
✓ Contacting you about your booking, for example if the weather changes our plans
✓ After a job, sending you a one-off message by text or email asking if you would like to leave a review
✓ Letting you know when a repeat clean may be due, if you have used us before

We never sell your information, and we do not send marketing to anyone who has not been a customer or asked to hear from us. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time.

Our legal reasons for using it

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we must have a legal reason to use your information. We rely on:
✓ Contract – to give you a quote and carry out the work you ask for
✓ Legal obligation – to keep business and tax records
✓ Legitimate interests – to follow up after a job, ask for a review and remind past customers when a clean may be due. You can object to this at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share your information when we need to, with:
✓ Our website host and email provider, who store the messages you send us
✓ Our accounting software, for quotes and invoices
✓ Our accountant and HMRC, where the law requires it

These companies only use your information to provide their service to us. We do not share your details with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

If you ask for a quote but do not go ahead, we delete your details within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep job and invoice records for 6 years, because UK tax law requires it. Photos you send us are deleted once they are no longer needed, unless you have agreed that we can use before and after photos of the work (we never show your house number or personal details).

Your rights

You have the right to:
✓ Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
✓ Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
✓ Ask us to delete your information, where we do not need to keep it by law
✓ Object to us using your information, or ask us to limit how we use it
✓ Ask us to stop contacting you

Just call or email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

These analytics cookies are only set if you click "Yes, that's fine" on our cookie banner. The information is anonymous to us, is not used for advertising and is never sold. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
