We clean all kinds of roofs in Stokesley, from traditional roofs to modern concrete tiles. Shaded roofs in particular collect moss that holds moisture, lifts tiles and eventually washes down into the gutters.
Our approach is careful and hands-on. The moss is removed by hand, never jet washed, with extra care taken on older roofs. A biocide treatment then kills the spores left behind, and all fallen moss is cleared from the gutters.

It's just not our preferred method for roofs. Hand removal followed by a biocide treatment gets the thick growth off and keeps working on what's left after we've gone.
The biocide treatment slows regrowth considerably. Roofs surrounded by trees or in very shaded spots may see some moss return sooner than open, sunny roofs.
Some always falls during the job, which is why we clear the gutters as part of every roof clean.
